Dana Air passengers stranded as pilots protest over welfare

Lagos –  Some of Dana Air were on Thursday stranded at airports across the country for several hours following a embarked upon by the airline’s pilots.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports the decision of the pilots disrupt the airline’s flight operations was informed by a dispute they had with the over welfare issues.

A NAN correspondent who monitored the at the Murtala Muhammed Airport 2 (MMA 2), Lagos, reports that some of the airline’s flights scheduled for the early part of Thursday were cancelled.

Some of the affected passengers who had bought flight tickets told NAN that they had to make alternative arrangements to get to destinations.

However, Dana Air’s Communications Manager, Mr Kingsley Ezenwa, who confirmed the development, told NAN that the issue had been resolved.

“The issue has been resolved. It was just a small miscommunication between Dana management and pilots.

“So, we are flying and we apologise to our passengers for any inconveniences they might have suffered,” Ezenwa said. (NAN)
