Dankwambo inaugurates Committee for reclaiming govt layouts


Gombe – Gov. Ibrahim Dankwambo of Gombe State on Thursday inaugurated a committee for the reclaiming of government’s layouts, with Alhaji Shehu Durbi as the Chairman.

Dankwambo, who was represented by the Acting Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mr. James Pissagih, said the committee was set up to reclaim plots from private individual and organizations that acquired same illegally.

He said those who acquired their plots genuinely, had no cause to fear.

Dankwambo urged the committee to be fair and abide by its terms of references.

The governor listed the terms of reference as identification of the level of encroachment, reclaiming the layouts and recommending punishment for culprits

The committee had also be mandated to demolish illegal structures, as well as advise those who acquired plots legally, to develop same within a specified period of time, among others mandates.

Responding, the Chairman of the committee, Alhaji Shehu Durbi, former Commissioner, Ministry of Lands and Survey, thanked the governor for finding them worthy for the assignment.

He assured that members of the committee would justify the confidence reposed in them.(NAN)
