ABUJA – A federal high court sitting in Abuja, has ruled that the national publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Olisa Metuh be remanded in Kuje prison.
Metuh has been in custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for over a week on allegations that he received the sum of N400 million from the office of National Security Adviser.
The EFCC arraigned him before the court on seven count charges of breach of public trust, corrupt acquisition of public funds and money laundering.

According to the charges, the PDP spokesman transferred the sum of $1 million through his agent, Nneka Nicole Ararume, to one Sie Iyenome of Capital Field Investment, committing an offence contrary to Section One of the Money Laundering Act.
It would be recalled that Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court, Abuja, on Thursday refused Metuh’s application to compel the EFCC to respond to his fundamental rights enforcement application on Thursday.
