Berlin – On Monday, a plaque honouring late rock star David Bowie was unveiled at the home where he lived during his stay in Cold War-era Berlin.
Bowie moved to Berlin in the mid-1970s where he lived and worked on albums “Low” “Heroes” and “Lodger”.
The rock star died in January 2016.
The plaque was unveiled on Monday by Berlin Mayor Michael Mueller reading “David Bowie (1947-2016) lived in this house 1976-1978”.
The plaque also quoted a line from “Heroes”.
“I think one can say David Bowie and West Berlin had quite a special partnership,’’ Mueller told the crowd.
Before the plaque was unveiled, fans gathered outside the building laying flowers and candles. (Reuters/NAN)
