LAGOS (Sundiata Post) – Afrobeats superstar Davido has revealed that his wife, Chioma, played a vital role in the creation of his latest album, 5ive.
Released on April 18, 2025, the 17-track project features collaborations with Grammy-winning stars Victoria Monét and Chris Brown. The album made an impressive entry on the World Albums chart, debuting at number 2 with 7,000 equivalent album units sold in its first week.
In a recent interview, Davido praised Chioma for being a strong source of motivation throughout the recording process.
“Shoutout to Chioma, when I was recording the album, she was around and gave me the energy to work,” he said.
The Grammy-nominated singer also shared that Chioma has a favorite song from the album—“10 Kilo”—which she’s grown increasingly fond of.
“When I spoke with her two days ago, she’s shifting towards 10 Kilo,” Davido added.
According to him, her support kept him focused and inspired, contributing significantly to the album’s development and eventual success.
