ENUGU – The Deeper Life Bible Church says it will commence a three-day special crusade in Enugu State to pray for the peace and security of the country. The Enugu State Overseer of the Church, Pastor Godson Ezenwajiofor, told journalists in Enugu on Thursday that only prayers would save the country from its current security challenge. Ezenwajiofor said prayers would be presided over by the General Superintendent of the Church, Pastor William Kumuyi at the Church Camp Ground in Enugu State. According to him, the focal points of the crusade will be to pray for peace, security, individual healing and salvation of both citizens and the country at large. Ezenwajiofor said the programme, which would commence on Aug. 15 to Aug. 17 would be tagged: `Greater Encounter with the God of Wonders.’

On the proposed payment of taxes by Churches, he decried the development saying it was not healthy for the growth and expansion of God’s Kingdom. Ezenwajiofor maintained that church was a place where souls were won for Christ and should therefore not be levied. “If they say those running other business ventures in the church should pay tax, it will not be a problem but to tell the church itself to pay tax is not encouraging’’, he said.
