The Catholic Priest Rev Fr. Jude Onyebadi kidnapped at his farm for second time along the Issele-Uku/Issele-Mkpetime road in Aniocha North LGA,Delta State on Saturday has been released.
A source in the community confirmed the release of the cleric.
Onyebadi is resident priest at Saint Peter and Paul parish, Issele-Azagba, Aniocha North LGA.
The source disclosed that Fr. Onyebadi was freed by his abductors around 7:30pm on Tuesday.
His words: “He was released on Tuesday evening and was immediately rushed to the hospital in Asaba for treatment.”
It could not be confirmed if ransom was paid to secure his release.
In a related development, two persons Mr Sunday Audu and Maduoogo Okafor have been reportedly kidnapped around 7pm on Monday.
According to a source in community, the incident occurred along Onicha-Olona-Issele-Mkpitime road.
“Maduoogo was kidnapped but while fleeing with the victim, the kidnappers abducted Mr. Sunday in front of his house close to the road.
“The search launched by members of the vigilante, police and community youths is yet to yield result,” he said.
Delta Police spokesperson, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya confirmed release of the priest.
Also, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Olona, SP Chidi Usuolor said he had mobilised his team alongside with the vigilantes into the bush in search for the victims and their abductors.
