ABUJA (Sundiata Post) – The Delta Government has lauded the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) for completing the 2024 Special High Impact intervention in the College of Education (CoE), Mosogar, describing the agency’s intervention as timely.

Chief Akpodiogaga Emeyese, Chairman of the Governing Council of the college made this known in an interview with newsmen, Abuja on Monday.

Emeyese said that the 2024 High Impact intervention completed include the college school of education complex which was also furnished as well as the administration building also furnished.

He explained that the school of education complex consists of a suspended floor storey buiding consisting of classrooms and offices.

‘’On the other hand the administration’s building consists of two suspended floor slabs storey building consisting of offices and administrative block well-furnished and equipped,’’ he said.

He noted that the intervention agency was truly improving the quality and standards of public tertiary education in the country.

He revealed that the institution which was established in 2002 was currently running the National University Commission (NUC) approved affiliate degree programmes with three universities and more than 15 academic programmes including Post-graduate degrees.

He said that universities include the University of Benin (UNIBEN), Delta State University (DELSU) Abraka, and the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education Port-Harcourt.

The board chairman said that the vision of the college was to be a center of excellence in the education of the total man, ensuring the total education of individuals.

He added the mission was to transform aspiring students into well-rounded individuals who can achieve their goals through education, planning, effort, perseverance and execution.

‘’Consequently, the college has the potentials to become a full- fledged university given her current level of manpower and infrastructural capacity.

‘’It currently has 20 academic departments in her NCE programme cutting across Arts, Education, Social Sciences, Science and Vocational Education.

‘’It is in view of this that we are appealing for the completion of the 2024 TETFund annual intervention of a modern library complex.

‘’We also appeal to them to hep with an ultra modern male and female student’s hostel, a 500 capacity ICT centre especially for Jamb exams as well as a Provost Lodge,’’ Emeyese said.

Emeyese noted that the college was known for excellence in sports education, ICT and technology development, adding that institution boasts of a career service center, standard science laboratories facilities, and hostel accommodation for students within the premises.

‘’The school also boast of a well secured perimeter fence wall, good water supply network, electricity power supply with backup 275Kva and 100Kva generators including 80Kva Solar Power Energy systems cited at various location connected to the buildings.

‘’We also have Wifi internet system, Olympic size swimming pool, Demonstration Secondary and Primary Schools and Staff welfare buses,’’ he added.

He further appealed to the TETFund led by Mr Sonny Echono to continue to sustain the cordial and mutual working relationship it had built overtime with the outgoing Provost of the college, Dr Isreal Imide.

NAN report that Imide will on Tuesday handover the Provostship of the college to his successor, Dr Dr Samuel Ugboduma. (NAN)
