Delta House of Assembly confirms appointment of 14 members of DESOPADEC board

Asaba -The Delta House of Assembly on Wednesday confirmed the appointments of 14 members of the Delta State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (DESOPADEC) governing board.

Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa had on Tuesday forwarded the list of the appointees to the House of Assembly for consideration.

The members of the governing board comprise the Chairman, the Managing Director, Executive Directors and Representative of the oil producing areas of the state.

The appointees are Mr Godwin Ebosa (Chairman), Chief William Makinde (Managing Director) and Chief Askia Ogieh, Mr Chris Ochor, Mr Philip Gbasin and Mr Victor Oritsetimeyi (Executive Directors).

Others are Chief Pius Ovbije, Mr Jonathan Amitaye, Mr Ovie Ogboore, Chief Thomas Ereyitomi, Mr Nnamdi Ezechi, Mr Fidelis Oputa and Chief Favour Izoukumor who were appointed representatives of the oil producing areas.

The confirmation followed the unanimous adoption of a motion by the Majority Leader of the House, Mr Tim Owhefere.

The motion was seconded by Mr Anthony Elekeokuri representing Eka North East state constituency. (NAN)
