Abuja (Sundiata Post) – Former Plateau State Labour Party Governorship Candidate, Amb. Yohanna Margif has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Nigeria’s Democracy Day.
The former governorship candidate who is also the National President of Farmers Armadillos Guards Alliance (FAGA), also congratulated the Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang for demonstrating the quality of a true democrat as shown in his leadership style for the past one year.
He said the noticeable transformation by the Mutfwang’s administration is laudable, visible and audible to the blind.
Lauding President Tinubu however, he said: “I congratulate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the occasion of 2024 Nigeria’s Democracy Day Celebrations.
“Tinubu’s emergence as the 16th democratically elected President of Nigeria is another milestone in Nigeria’s march to an enduring democracy,” he said in a statement sent to our correspondent.
He continued: “Tinubu has seen it all in his struggle to ensure democracy takes root in Nigeria, saying that his years in the trenches in the early 1990s brought him out as a true democrat”.
He also congratulated Nigerians for their resilience since 1999 to ensure democracy is sustained through their votes, assuring that with Tinubu in the saddle, his “Renewed Hope Agenda” is a sure way to Nigeria’s greatness in all ramifications of national development.
“Let me also pay tribute to Chief MKO Abiola GCFR for his sacrifice, which today June 12 we are celebrating. This is a clear confirmation that his sacrifice has not gone in vain. His spirits of selflessness, patriotism, and unity are worthy of emulation by all democratic leaders nationally and globally.
“It is an honour well deserved by Chief MKO Abiola of blessed memory and all lovers of democracy by the international community,” Margif opined.
Celebrating the Governor of Plateau State, he said: “It’s great to hear about the commendable efforts of Governor Mutfwang in supporting farmers affected by the unrest in the State.
“The flag-off of cultivation on 6,000 hectares of land is a significant step towards restoring the livelihoods of those affected.
“I am right to urge the governor to prioritize the needs of farmers, who make up 70% of the State’s population.
“It’s essential to ensure that this assistance reaches the intended beneficiaries, many of whom are homeless due to the unrest.
“The Governor’s decision demonstrates his commitment to the well-being of the people and his administration’s support for agriculture will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the State’s economy and food security.
“I hope the program is successfully implemented, and the farmers receive the necessary support to rebuild their lives and livelihoods”, he said.
Margif said he will not forget to congratulate other stakeholders in government who have also contributed in ensuring Governor Mutfwang succeeds.
According to him: “I also congratulates Members of the National Assembly, Senators, and House of Representatives from Plateau State, as well as All political leadership on the Plateau
