Abuja (Sundiata Post) -The Chairman of Jos South Local Government Area (LGA), of Plateau State, Hon. Peter Vwang-Dung has congratulated the Plateau State Governor Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, commending him for his commitment to ensuring Peace, Progress and Development in the State.

The LG Chairman in a statement sent to our correspondent said the Governor has within one year demonstrated a high sense of commitment and capacity to engender growth and development of the State via the “Time Is Now Mantra”.

According to Vwang-Dung, Mutfwang has not only kept faith with the good people of Plateau State across the three Senatorial zones, but has also created an atmosphere for a sustained peaceful coexistence.

“I can authoritatively say without mincing words that Plateau people are really at home with the Governor. We have seen his fair treatment and commitment to ensure peace , progressive and development in our State.

“On this occasion of the 2024 Nigeria’s Democracy Day Celebrations, your emergence as Governor during the 2023 gubernatorial elections in the State is no doubt a milestone in the march to an enduring peace , progress and development of Plateau.

“We also reckoned and acknowledged the doggedness of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu who struggled to ensure democracy takes root in Nigeria.

“Tinubu’s emergence as the 16th democratically elected President of Nigeria is another milestone in Nigeria’s march to an enduring democracy.

“Tinubu has seen it all in his struggle to ensure democracy takes root in Nigeria, His years in the trenches in the early 1990s brought him out as a true democrat”, he said.

He continued: “Let me also pay tribute to Chief MKO Abiola GCFR for his sacrifice, which today June 12 we are celebrating. This is a clear confirmation that his sacrifice has not gone in vain. His spirits of selflessness, patriotism, and unity are worthy of emulation by all democratic leaders nationally and globally.

“It is an honour well deserved by Chief MKO Abiola of blessed memory and all lovers of democracy by the international community,” Vwang-Dung opined.

He however urged residents and citizens to continue to support Mutfwang’s led administration, with hope that his wealth of experience as a businessman and politician will be brought to bear in making Plateau State to continually be great.
