Yenagoa – Some stakeholders in Bayelsa have described President Muhammadu Buhari’s speech to mark Democracy Day and one year in office on Sunday as inspiring.
In separate interviews with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday, they also lauded the president for running a transparency government.
Mr Gabriel Kemeowei, a political analyst, said that the performance of the president in the last one had positively impacted on all sectors of the economy.
Kemeowei urged Nigerians to continue to repose confidence in the government and its policies.
On details of looters, Kemeowei said that the president’s directive to the Ministry of Information to publish the amount of looted funds so far recovered was the best approach.
Also, Mr Tari Perezie, a politician, also hailed the president’s speech and urged Nigerians to support the APC-led administration.
“Only us (Nigerians) can change Nigeria,’’ Perezie said.
He also said that the president’s directive to publish amount of looted funds so far recovered was in order.
The politician noted that the merging of ministries by the present administration had reduced the cost of governance, adding it was a right step in the right direction.
He, however, urged the president to make appointments into public offices bases only on competency and experience.
He advised the president to avoid appointing those who did not have the nation’s interest at heart into public offices. (NAN)
