Dickson holds emergency meeting with labour leaders May 6

YENAGOA (Sundiata Post) – As part of efforts to foster the existing relationship between the government and labour movement in Bayelsa  State, Governor Henry Seriake Dickson, is expected to have an emergency meeting with the leadership of Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC).

Dickson in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Daniel Iworiso-Markson, on Sunday in Yenagoa, said the meeting would hold on Friday May 6.

The meeting would, among other issues, discuss the welfare and future of workers and other major concerns of labour in the State.

The leaderships of NLC, TUC and all affiliate bodies as well as top government functionaries and other invited guests are expected to be in attendance.

The governor also felicitated with labour on the occasion of the 2016 workers’ day celebration and expressed satisfaction with the existing level of understanding of the prevailing economic situation and the harmonious working relationship between workers and the government in the State.
