Minna – Dr Thomos Alabi, Head of Educational Technology, Federal University of Technology, Minna, has called on the Federal Government to strengthen security in the nation’s universities to avoid attack by insurgents.
Alabi told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Minna that effective security measures would guarantee the safety of residents in the university community.
He also called on the management of universities to train their security personnel to enable them to confront any security threat.
“University managements should introduce stringent security measures to guarantee the safety of lives and property,” he said.
He said that well trained security personnel would complement the effort of the police in providing peaceful atmosphere in the nation’s higher institutions.
“We must be security conscious and be ready to deal with any unforeseen circumstances before us.
