Donald Trump has launched a bizarre attack on pop star Lady Gaga in a last-ditch attempt to win a key swing state in the presidential election. The President of the United States tweeted: ‘Just learned that Sleepy Joe Biden is campaigning in Pennsylvania with Lady Gaga, a proud member of “Artists Against Fracking.”
‘This is more proof that he would ban Fracking and skyrocket your energy prices. As I said at the debate – “Will you remember that Texas?Pennsylvania? Ohio? New Mexico?
‘I will always protect American Energy and American Jobs.
Get out and VOTE!’ Trump attacked Biden’s showbiz backer in an attempt to highlight the presidential hopeful’s changing stance on fracking – natural gas extraction – which has given a huge economic boost to parts of the US.
Last year, Biden claimed he would ‘eliminate’ coal mining and fracking because of its impact on the environment.
Latest polls put Joe Biden up to 10 points ahead of Trump nationally, with much narrower leads in other key swing states like Arizona and Wisconsin. At least one poll has predicted a Trump win in another key state, Ohio, with analysts still struggling to guess which man will end up winning Florida. Trump has further indicated he may try and declare victory before a definitive victor has been announced on Wednesday, raising the specter of a court case deciding the winner of the election.
