LAGOS – A Lagos based group, Save Lagos Group (SLG) has warned Nigeria politicians, particularly that of opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) extraction not to truncate the current democratic experiment over their desperation to win the 2015 presidential election, just as it disclosed that the current political tension created by the politicians might encourage the military men to take
over the reign of power.
The Save Lagos Group(SLG) which strongly condemned the recent show of shame of the members of the House of Representatives at the premises of the National Assembly, declared that if the current democracy collapsed, the current political office holders would be held responsible and nobody would fight military to return back to the barrack.
The group, in a statement issued and signed by its Convener, Comrade Adeniyi Alimi Sulaiman, which a copy was made available to newsmen in Lagos yesterday, maintained that all the lawmakers involved in the stigma have disappointed the people of their federal constituencies and Nigeria as a whole.
Sulaiman, who doubles as Executive Chairman of the Centre for Human Rights and social Justice (CHRSJ) demanded an apology from the lawmakers to all Nigerians at home and abroad for the disgrace being brought to Nigeria through their visionless conduct, insisting that the House of Representatives should apologise openly to Nigerians.
The SLG boss further described the action of the Speaker of the House of Representatives and his co- travelers as barbaric, unpatriotic, anti-people, ungodly and undemocratic tendencies.
He urged the Nigeria Police and other security agents to be civil while on duty.
