Abuja (Sundiata Post) – The Labour Party, (LP) on Wednesday released a list of one thousand two hundred and thirty-four members of its presidential campaign council.
Director-General of the Labour Party (LP) presidential campaign organisation Dr Doyin Okupe unveiled the list on Wednesday at a crowded World press conference in Abuja Wednesday.
Okupe who described the Obidients’ Movement as the biggest political supports group in the history of Nigeria also affirmed that Obi/Datti candidacy has the dominant followership in the build up to the 2023 general election.
He disclosed that 60 percent of the over 38 million social media followers who were registered voters belonged to the OBIdients movement.
Okupe also stated that 60 percent of the over thirty-eight million social media followers were supporters of the Labour Party Candidate and pwere equally registered votes.
“Eighty percent of new voters are supporters of the LP candidate” he said, stressing that, ” what we are appealing for, ” is for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure a free and fair elections”.
He emphasized that Obidient was an organic movement involving people of all backgrounds which has set the record in political mobilisation not known in Nigeria.
“What is uncommon about Obidients is that members of the movement are members and supporters of the other political parties, such as the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP), the All Progressives Congress, (APC) and others”.
Sundiata Post recalls that Okupe said that Obidient movement has risen above religious, ethnnic and political affiliations, and has risen above primordial sentiment.” He further added.
