Kinshasa- The national football team of the DR Congo will begin preparations in the first two weeks of December for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The event will be hosted by Equatorial Guinea.
Roger Bodembe Bokanyanga, the vice-president of the Congolese Football Federation, announced that the training camp would to be held in Kinshasa and would involve local players.
He said that the team would fly into Cameroon on Dec. 29 to acclimatise as Cameroon has similar climate as Equatorial Guinea.
DR Congo’s foreign-based players will join the camp later.
DR Congo qualified for the tournament as the best third-placed team.
The 2015 AFCON will take place from Jan. 17 to Feb. 8 in Equatorial Guinea. (PANA/NAN)
