The Directorate of Security Services (DSS) on Wednesday arraigned five suspects in court over alleged stealing of N2,09mp belonging to one Suberu Shaibu.
Sundiata Post reports that the offence was said to have been committed on June 28, 2015 in Benin-City.
The name of the suspects are Murktar Shuaibu, Kabiru Shuaibu, Abdul Momoh, Enesi Jamiu and Abubakar Lawal.
The suspects were arraigned on a two-count charge of stealing. The suspects’ pleas were not however taken.
The prosecution counsel, E. Aubrey, however, applied for the suspects to be remanded in the DSS custody pending when the bail application would be heard.
The presiding Magistrate, Frank Idiake who remanded the suspects on the prosecutor’s custody noted that bail would be considered in the course of the trial.
He however adjourned the case to August 10.
In another development, three suspects were also arraigned before Igho Braimah of Oredo magistrate court over alleged stealing of valuables valued at N450,000 belonging to one Mrs Idemudia Mabel, a teacher.
The valuables are two laptops, one Ipad phone, one camera, one charger, three Nokia phones, wristwatch, school bags and a cash of N23,000 all valued at N450,000.
The offence was said to have been committed January 04, 2015 at No7, Okoro Street, Ugbiyokho quarters, Benin-City.
The three suspects were alleged to have broken into the premises of the complainant with hammer and saw blade before making away the valuables.
Igho however adjourned the case to July 29.
