Minister of Tourism, Culture and National Orientation, Chief Edem Duke is to oversee the activities of the Federal Ministry of Information until a substantive Minister is appointed for the Ministry.
In a statement by the Special Assistant (Media) to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sam Nwaobasi, the President’s directive followed the disengagement of Dr. Nuruddeen Muhammad, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, who was overseeing the activities of the Federal Ministry of Information, and who is now the deputy governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Jigawa State, in the April 11 governorship election.
Chief Edem Duke has since resumed as the supervising Minister of Information.
