Dutse LG inaugurates 13-Member Revenue Committee

Dutse – The Dutse Local Government Council in Jigawa has constituted a 13-Member Committee to explore new revenue avenues to improve its finances.

The council’s Information Officer, Malam Ya’u Garba, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Dutse.
Garba said the committee is headed by the council’s Caretaker Committee Chairman, Alhaji Iliyasu Kwari, while Alhaji Ado Adamu, is the Secretary.
He said that other members of the committee included Councillors, Heads of Departments, the Local Government’s APC Chairman and a Revenue Officer in the council.
The spokesperson quoted the chairman of the committee as urging the members to discharge their duty with probity and fear of God.
According to him, the committee is to boost the local government’s revenue base, in order to execute projects that will improve the quality of lives of the people of the area.
Garba said that the committee was expected to dig out unexplored revenue sources, so as to diversify the council’s revenue base.
He said the chairman of the committee advised the people to cooperate with the local government by paying all levies and taxes, as and when due. (NAN)
