DUTSE – Professor Jibrilla Amin, the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University, Dutse in Jigawa State, on Wednesday said that the institution had concluded plans to establish a Faculty of Medicine in the school.
Amin, who disclosed this while speaking with newsmen in Dutse said that the university would also establish a Micro-Finance Bank.
“We want to establish a world-class Faculty of Medicine in Dutse and we have got the best hands from within and outside the country to help us in the faculty.
“Our training will be tailored towards giving patients first-class treatment. That is the kind of medical students we want to produce,” he pledged.
He explained that the university had placed advertisement seeking for academic staff for the new faculty and had also designed the programmes.[eap_ad_2]
According to the Vice-Chancellor, the university will use Federal Medical Centre, Birninkudu and Rasheed Shekoni Hospital, Dutse ,as temporary teaching hospitals.
Amin also said that there were plans to establish a micro-finance bank that would give soft loan to any staff of the university in need .
He added that a staff cooperative society would also be established as part of the university authorities’ welfare package for staff. (NAN)[eap_ad_3]
