“We have admonished the people to suspend consumption of bush meat and avoid contact with animals like bats, antelopes, monkeys which have been reported as sources of contacting the disease, “ he said.
Olaide said hunters and farmers were their target due to the nature of their profession, urging them to suspend hunting to avoid the temptation of eating the animals caught.
“The disease spreads through blood, sweat, urine or saliva of infected animals or humans while its symptoms include vomiting, diarrhea, bleeding and fever, “ he said.
He urged the people to imbibe the habit of living in a hygienic environment and avoid activities that could aid the spread of the virus.
The coordinator commended the efforts of the Federal Government at nipping the spread of the disease in the bud.
Olaide urged other organisations to support the sensitisation crusade across the country so that every Nigerian would be fully aware of Ebola. (NAN)[eap_ad_3]
