GOMA (DR Congo) – The Ebola outbreak in Equateur province, north of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo), has been brought under control, an official source said on Monday.
The statement cited the Health Minister, Felix Kabange, as saying that from Sept. 17, DR Congo registered 71 ebola cases with 40 deaths. [eap_ad_1] “DR Congo authorities and their partners have managed to contain the epidemic in the zone where it was initially declared, hence reducing the rate of contamination,’’ the statement said.
According to the country’s health ministry, the disease has been brought under control.
He said no new case was reported in the last 10 days.
He thanked the people for following instructions and recommendations from health experts involved in the fight against ebola.
