Rivers community protests location of quarantine centre in their areaThe River State government has assured the people of Oduoha in Emohua Local Government area of safety the citing of a proposed quarantine centre in the community.

The Commissioner for Health, Sampson Parker gave the assurance after a group of people from Oduoha protested against the Ebola centre.

The protesters shut the site until the Commissioner intervened and assured them that the Ministry dialogue with members of the community to salvage the situation.

“We are taking all precautionary measures to make sure that everyone in the community is protected and whatever fears are be assuaged.

“We chose the health centre because is one health centre that is kept away from the community. Whatever needs the community may have we care of it.

“As for fears, all we need do is to go there and discuss with them”, Parker said.

He also warned against making the citing of the centre a political issue, adding that politicians in the state should stop politicising every move of the Rivers State government.[eap_ad_3]
