The East African country of Rwanda has announced restriction of movement of people from West African countries except Nigeria over fears of spread of the Ebola virus disease.
Consequently it’s flag carrier, RwandAir, has stopped airlift of passengers from Guinea-Conakry, Liberia, Sierra-Leone and Senegal. Nigeria is not included in the restriction. A RwandAir official told reporters in Lagos that efforts of the Nigerian government to curb the spread may be responsible for the exemption.
“RwandAir insisted that any passenger with fever of 37.5 degrees and above from any country in the world will not be allowed into the country and this will be followed to the letter”, he said.[eap_ad_2]
Earlier, the airline in a statement by its media partner in Nigeria assured its clients that it would at all times adhere strictly to instructions from the Ministry of Health of its home country, adding that all measures put in place were in line to prevent transmission of the virus.
The airline assured that all intending passengers must go through the screening process for Ebola prevention in line with measures adopted by the government of Rwanda at all border posts, stressing that no one will be allowed to board without screening.[eap_ad_3]
