Lusaka – Zambia is worried about the economic slowdown in China, a key consumer of its copper, a senior official said on Wednesday.
Secretary to the Treasury, Fredson Yamba, told reporters in Lusaka the country expected a further decline in revenue due to sharply lower prices for the commodity.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”70560″]
“We are worried because China is one of the major consumers of our copper.
“We had anticipated that copper prices would decline but not to these levels; my take is that the revenue is going to decline further,” Yamba said. (Reuters/NAN)
