ECOWAS high Commissioner on Political Affairs and former Minister of State for External Affairs, Hajiya Salamatu Hussaini has pledged to give maximum support to the development of girl-child education in Kebbi State.
She made the remarks while on courtesy visit to the Emir of Gwandu, Alhaji Iliyasu Bashar at his palace in Birnin Kebbi.
Hajiya Salamatu told the Emir that she was in his palace to thank him for his support in renaming Abdullahi Fodio Girls Secondary School, Birnin Kebbi after her name ie Salamatu Hussaini Girls Secondary School.
” I am in your palace to appreciate the honor done to me by renaming the girls secondary school after me. This has motivated me immensely to support girl-child education and the state in general”,she said.
In his remarks, the emir, Bashar expressed optimism that Salamatu deserved the honor due to her hard work, respect and foresight in dealing with issues.
