ACCRA – The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) on Monday sent a message of congratulations to the British Prime Minister, David Cameron, on his re-election after last Thursday’s general election.
The Ghanaian President and Chairman of ECOWAS, John Dramani Mahama, made this known in a statement in Accra.
The statement quoted Mahama as saying “I wish on behalf of my colleague Heads of State and Government of the ECOWAS Authority to congratulate Mr David Cameron on his re-election as Prime Minister of the UK.
“The decisive result of the May 7 poll is a clear indication of a renewal of confidence of the British people in your vision and leadership.
“I am confident that we will, through our collective endeavours, attain more cooperation during your second term of office for the benefit of the present, the succeeding generations of the UK and the ECOWAS region.
