BENIN (Sundiata Post) – There is ongoing mobilisation of operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for the Edo State governorship election holding on Saturday, September 21.
Sundiata Post fundings indicate that a total of 350 operatives will be deployed to the polling stations to monitor the situation with regards to vote buying.
The police are also mobilising over 35,000 officers across the 18 local government areas.
The military has secured the boundaries with the neighbouring states of Delta, Ondo, Anambra and Kogi to forestall any outside influences on the outcome of the election.
However, everything looks peaceful on the outside as the state government earlier declared today a public holiday.
There are noticeable fuel queues too.
