BENIN (Sundiata Post) – The Edo State chapter of the Labour Party (LP) has ratified the choice of Prince Yusuf Asamah Kadiri from Auchi, Etsako West Local Government Area, as running mate to its governorship candidate, Mr. Olumid
Chairman of LP, Mr. Kelly Ogbaloi, said the decision was taken at a meeting in Benin.
He disclosed that Mrs. Oluyinka Alufohai from Owan West Local Government Area, who was earlier announced as running mate was dropped as she was a placeholder.
He dispelled the insinuations that Mrs. Alufohai was dropped over discrepancies in her date of birth and the year she finished secondary school in the form EC28 she submitted to the Independent National Electoral (INEC).
Ogbaloi said the party would soon formally present the running mate to Edo State people at a ceremony, noting that the party was poised to win the forthcoming governorship election.
