Ahead of the September 21 governorship election in the state, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Asue Ighodalo has revealed what will make him to concede defeat at the polls.
Speaking during an interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today, Ighodalo said if he loses the election fairly and squarely, only then will he concede defeat.
He, however, noted that he would win the election based his assessment.
He called on the people of the state to come out and vote, and assured them that they would be safe.
According to him, the next governor of Edo State would only be decided by the people of Edo.
He said, “The first question my daughter asked me the day I told her I am conceding. She said daddy you are not used to losing. I don’t think you have ever lost. If you lose this, how will you take it?
“Honestly if we lose this election and we know we lost it fairly and squarely, I will be the first to concede. But I know we cannot lose this election if the playing field is levelled. We cannot lose this election.
“We have related well with the people of Edo State. We told the people of Edo State what we will do for them and they trust us. They will vote for us. I know at a level playing field, we will win.”
