The Edo State Police Command has successfully rescued the kidnapped traditional ruler of Udo-Eguare community, His Royal Highness, Friday Ehizojie.
Ehizojie was abducted on February 3 while traveling on a motorcycle through a forest between Ubiaja and Udo community. During the attack, gunmen kidnapped him and shot dead the motorcycle rider who was transporting him.
Confirming the rescue, the spokesperson for the Edo State Police Command, Moses Yamu, stated that Ejizojie was freed on Friday following a coordinated search and rescue operation by the police and local vigilantes.
“The command is pleased to inform the general public that the sustained search and rescue operation has yielded positive results,” Yamu said.
