Awka – The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) attributes loss of power supply to Awka, Anambra and its environs to problems at the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) Station in Awada near Onitsha.
Mr Emeka Ezeh, Head Communications Department of EEDC disclosed this in a statement on Friday.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that there had been total blackout in Awka and neighboring towns since Sunday.
Ezeh said the injection substations at Agu-Awka and at ABS premises had been out of service as a result of the transmission challenges.
He assured that EEDC was following up with the team of TCN engineers who were working round the clock to fix the fault.
The EEDC spokesperson apologised to its customers for the outage, adding that power would be restored as soon as TCN was done with the repairs.
“EEDC wishes to inform her esteemed customers in Awka and environs that the loss of power supply currently being experienced is as a result of fault at the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) Station in Awada.
“We are following up with the team of TCN Engineers working to address the fault.
“We sincerely apologise for the inconveniences this situation has caused our esteemed customers and assure them that once the fault is cleared, we shall restore supply to our feeders,” he said.
