Abuja – As Muslims celebrate Eid-el Kabir, Malam Adamu Candido, Chairman, Abuja Municipal Area Council(AMAC), has advised residents of the federal capital against negative tendencies that could hurt the peace enjoyed over the years.“The festival is an opportunity to show love and kindness, especially to the poor and vulnerable. We must avoid negative tendencies that could lead to regrets,” Candido said in Abuja on Sunday.He spoke at a media retreat organised by AMAC for newsmen covering the federal capital.The retreat, with the theme: “The Role of Media in the Next Chapter”, focused on showcasing Candido’s development blueprint for the next three years.He encouraged Nigerians to pray for the country and support its leaders, urging them to collectively fight negative tendencies that could destroy the peace of the nation.Candido said that AMAC had partnered with the military and other security agencies to ensure a peaceful celebration, and advised residents of Abuja to report any suspicious movement to the security agencies.He said that the retreat was imperative to unveil his administration’s plans and also let the residents know what the administration had done and what it would do in the near future. Candido urged AMAC residents to support innovative institutions such as the AMAC Marshals, Microfinance, AMAC Investment, AMAC Radio, among others aimed at turning AMAC to an economic hub to generate jobs and revenue.He reiterated commitment to enhancing infrastructural development, promising that communities without electricity would soon have it.
