ILORIN – The Speaker of Kwara State House of Assembly, Mr Rasak Atunwa, has called on Muslims to imbibe the virtues of sacrifice, perseverance, tolerance, steadfastness, love and piety as they celebrate Eid-el-Kabir.
He made the call in a Salah message issued by his Special Assistant, Media, Alhaji AbdulRahman Sanni, in llorin on Friday.
Atunwa said perseverance is a virtue every Nigerian including Muslims must imbibe if Nigeria was to overcome the numerous challenges facing it. [eap_ad_1] He said sacrifice, tolerance, steadfastness, perseverance, love of one another would go a long way in saving the country from disintegration.
According to him, Nigeria needs prayer, support and patriotic zeal of the people to move the nation forward.
Atunwa said that the nation has the human and natural potential to achieve greatness, stressing that Nigerians had also excelled in various field of human endeavours across the world.
The speaker called on all Nigerians to love and tolerate each other, irrespective of their religious and political differences for the nation to overcome the security challenges confronting it.
He advised Muslims in Nigeria not to use the occasion for merriment alone, but to reflect on issues aggravating insecurity, terrorism, corruption, joblessness, violence and instability in the country. (NAN)
