AWKA – Gov. Willie Obiano of Anambra has charged Muslims to use the spiritual lessons of Eid Kabir and the blessings of the Sallah season to promote love and peaceful co-existence among Nigerians.
The governor made the call in Awka on Saturday in his Sallah message to adherents of the Islamic faith in the country.
According to him, the celebration of Eid-el-Kabir gives Muslims across the country a veritable opportunity to reflect on the supremacy of peace to nation building. “May the teachings of the holy prophet guide our relationship with one another this Sallah season and always,” Obiano said.
The governor further urged Muslims in the state to pray for peace and security in the country and state.
“As you celebrate, remember to be vigilant; take note of people and activities around your neighborhood to make sure nothing breaches the peace and security of our state.
“May I also assure you that my administration is committed to providing the enabling environment for your businesses and economic activities,” Obiano said. (NAN)
