Eid-el-Maulud: Ugwuanyi calls for prayers for peaceful coexistence

Enugu –  Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, on Friday appealed to Muslim faithful to offer special prayers for peaceful coexistence among the various tribes in the country.

Ugwuanyi made the plea in his goodwill message to Muslims in the state on Eid-el-Maulud celebration.

“As Muslims celebrate Eid-el-Mualud, the birthday of Prophet Muhammad, may I, on behalf of the government and people of Enugu State, felicitate with all the Muslim faithful in our dear state on this special occasion.

“On this day of celebration, you also embark on spiritual rebirth to strengthen your faith in line with the life of Prophet Muhammad.

“ I urge you to offer special prayers for peaceful co-existence among the various people in our dear nation,’’ he appealed.

According to him, I wish all our Muslim brothers and sisters in our state and across the country a joyous and hitch-free Eid-el-Maulud celebration. (NAN)
