The Secretary of the association, Mrs Mercy Adegbuji, made the appeal while addressing students participating in the trials to select players for Development Agenda for Western Nigeria (DAWN) Games.
The trials were holding at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, Ado-Ekiti.
Adegbuji said that the trial was for the association to discover talents that would represent the state in the regional competitions.
According to her, best football , basketball and volleyball teams as well as other outstanding students in chess, athletics, scrabble, table tennis and tennis would be compensated as soon as the trials end on Thursday.
She charged them to make themselves available for the next trials ahead of the DAWN Games.
The secretary appealed to principals of schools to assist the state sports council in enlightening their students to embrace sports. (NAN)
