The Commissioner for Integration and Intergovernmental Affairs in Ekiti State, Funminiyi Afuye, has said the All Progressives Congress did not go to the Ekiti Governorship Election Petition Tribunal to distract the incoming administration of Mr. Ayo Fayose.
The former Majority Leader in the state House of Assembly, said the party is at the tribunal to expose the technology employed to rig the election in favour of the Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate in the June 21 election.
Afuye gave the clarification in Ikere-Ekiti on Saturday during an interview with journalists on the referendum organised by the Ekiti State Independent Electoral Commission.
He said, “People would have to believe that nothing is impossible with technology. There are people who defraud through the use of Automated Teller Machine.

“If this could happen and many other reported cases of cybercrime, we cannot rule out the possibility of photochromic and thermochromic rigging in the June 21 governorship election.
“Apart from this, the system had been used in advanced climes to rig elections and it might be a new invention in Nigeria which our party would have to expose.”
Afuye, however, pointed out that as much as the APC members would not do anything that would distract the governor-elect, the APC would constructively engage him on whatever programmes he executes for the people.
“The APC as a progressive party will not distract him but we are not going to leave the political space for them or else there won’t be good governance. We will constructively engage him on issues and this will be based on the programmes he has for the people of this state,” he added. (Punch)
