NASSARAWA-EGGON – The forum of former councillors in Nasarawa State, has endorsed President Goodluck Jonathan and Mr Labaran Maku for the presidential and governorship elections.
The endorsement is contained in a communiqué issued on Monday at the end of a meeting of the forum held in Wakama, Nassarawa-Eggon Local Government Area of Nasarawa state.
Hamisu Abubakar, the chairman of the forum, who read the communiqué, said that federal projects sited in the state under Jonathan’s administration were noteworthy since the creation of Nasarawa state in 1996.
He said the forum had decided to mobilise voters for Jonathan and Maku in appreciation of the human and physical developments witnessed in the state through their efforts.
The communiqué stated that the record of Maku’s achievements in the various public offices he held had endeared him to the people in the state.
The forum expressed optimism that with Maku’s virtues of humility, integrity, patriotism and hard work, the state would witness rapid development if he gets the mandate.
“Maku is a role model in the state because of his records of achievements and the experience he has acquired both at the state and federal levels.
“Throughout his public service, Maku was never found wanting in the course of discharging his responsibilities,” the forum said.
It noted that Maku had championed the cause of peace, reconciliation and unity among warring communities in the state and would do more if elected governor.
