“We have deployed about 1,500 personnel across the 18 local government areas of the state to provide adequate security for Saturday’s polls.
“Our men have been trained and well equipped for this election. They are expected to be neutral on Election Day and to provide security for all Nigerians,’’ he said.

Also, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, ASP Hogan Bassey, has assured the people of Cross River that the police was fully mobilised for the polls.
Bassey, who did not give the number of police men deployed, said that the police would provide security for all voters on Election Day.
“We have sufficient men that will maintain peace and order in all polling units across the state.
“For security reasons, I will not give you the number of men deployed for the polls.
“What I can guarantee you is that we are alert and ready for the polls,’’ Bassey said. (NAN)
