Katsina- As Nigerians await the official announcement of the Presidential and National Assembly election results, sellers of portable world radio receivers are making good sales in Katsina State.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that high demand had led to increase in the prices of such radio sets.
A survey conducted by NAN in Katsina revealed that a Kchibo World Receiver Radio which was previously sold at N750 and N850, now sells between N1,200 and N1,300.
Malam Abdullahi Bawa, a radio seller in Katsina said that such portable radio receivers were on high demand.

He said that in spite of the increase in their prices, their demand kept increasing, because people wanted to have first hand information about the outcome of the elections.
NAN correspondent also observed that people tuned their radio sets to foreign stations such as BBC, VOA, DW, Radio France, Hamada Radio among others.
Malam Muhammad Aminu, a trader, said that he bought a new radio receiver in order to be up to date about the outcome of the elections.
He said that he usually tuned his radio to both local and foreign radio stations to listen to news about the conduct of the elections. (NAN)
