Emir of Kazaure tasks parents on education

Kazaure (Jigawa) – The Emir of Kazaure in Jigawa, Alhaji Hussaini Adamu, on Sunday in Kazaure charged parents to ensure proper moral upbringing and education of their children.
Adamu made the call at a civic reception organised by the Kazaure community to honour the Minister of Water Resources, Alhaji Sulaiman Adamu, and 114 other prominent personalities.
He said that it was imperative for parents to enrol their wards in school and support them to pursue higher education.
“It is imperative to invest in education of our children, especially girl child.
“We must instil discipline, good moral virtues and ensure proper education of the young ones to achieve sustainable development,” he said.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”70560″]
Adamu admonished his subjects to support each other and work as a team for the overall development of the area.
He commended the awardees for their contributions toward the development of the state, adding that the awards were in recognition and appreciation of their selfless services to the country.
A former governor of the state, Alhaji Saminu Turaki, also called on the elites and wealthy individuals to work collectively to accelerate social and economic development of the area.
Turaki, who is also a recipient of the meritorious achievement award, noted that such cooperation was necessary to fast track economic and peaceful coexistence in the society.
Also speaking, the minister commended the emirate council for the gesture and pledged to be a good ambassador of the area.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Hussaini, Turaki and 113 other prominent personalities from the area were honoured with various awards at the occasion.
They include Amb. Zubairu Kazaure; INEC’s National Commissioner, Mrs Amina Zakari, and Gen. Sulaiman Zakari.
Others were serving and retired civil servants, permanent secretaries, ambassadors, judges, academics, doctors, pharmacists and engineers.
NAN also reports that the Emir of Daura in Katsina State, Alhaji Faruk Umar, and some members of state and national assemblies attended the occasion. (NAN)
