Employee Allegedly Steals N480,000 Mobile Phone At Company Office

Ikeja, – A 29-year-old man, Chibuike Ignatus, on Friday appeared before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing a Samsung A73 smart phone, valued N480,000.

The defendant, who resides at 2, Obasa St., Anifowose, Ikeja, is charged with stealing.

The prosecutor, Insp Glory Goodday, told the court that the offence was committed on Dec. 2 at Jumia Logistics Company, Ikeja.

Goodday alleged that the installed Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) showed the defendant, who works with Jumia, stealing the Samsung smart phone.

The offence, according to the prosecutor, contravenes section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Magistrate, Mr O. O Odufuye, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum.

Odufuye adjourned the case until Feb. 13, for mention.(NAN)(
