A particular lane on the dual carriage road that leads to the Nigeria Police F0rce Headquarters in the Asokoro area of Abuja was blocked on Monday afternoon as heavily armed men manned strategic locations around the building.
All vehicles were forced to use the other lane in a bid to stop #EndSARS protesters from coming close to the headquarter building of the police.
Also, around 2pm on Monday, armed policemen were seen dispersing some hoodlums numbering over 50 who were sighted with sticks and other harmful materials.
Our correspondent observed the hoodlums running away from the roads that connect the police headquarters, as they were chased away by the armed policemen.
Many of the hoodlums scattered into various streets in Asokoro, a development that briefly made the area tensed as motorists drove in haste to avoid being caught in a possible clash.
It was also observed that heavily armed men from the police were deployed to man the headquarters of the Central Bank of Nigeria on Monday.
They quelled the protest at the CBN headquarters and ensured that no one was allowed to stop around the premises without any justifiable reason.
#EndSARS protesters had earlier staged a protest at the CBN headquarters that dragged from Sunday night till Monday morning.
