#EndSARS: Training Of New Police Unit Begins Next Week – IGP, Mohammed Adamu

Following the dissolution of The Special Anti -Robbery Squad (SARS) Sunday, October 11, Mohammed Adamu, the Inspector General of Police has disclosed that the training of a new police unit which will be replacing SARS will begin next week.


The who disclosed this when Davido visited him in his office Monday, October 12 the ongoing # protests, said there is need to get a new structure to carry the duties of the defunct police unit.

Adamu promised to investigate all cases of brutality and bring perpetrators to , while also revealing that the new unit will be intelligence -driven, properly trained and only act special occasions that require attention.

He Said;

“We just disbanded yesterday so should calm down and give us time to fix the problem. The general will be part of the process of getting a new outfit.

’m talking to you so will keep talking to many others and get civil societies involved and get input towards the new unit.”

On the issue of compensating of those affected by SARS brutality, the said it would be addressed when investigations are concluded.

Adamu further revealed that though the of the disbanded SARS would be retrained and given responsibilities in the Force, they will be reabsorbed into the new unit.
