Lafia – Gov. Tanko Al-makura of Nasarawa State on Wednesday urged members of the State Executive Council to ensure prudence and transparency in the discharge of their duties.
Al-makura gave the warning at the inaugural state executive council meeting in Lafia.
He said it was imperative for all appointed executive members to ensure prudence and shun all corrupt tendencies in the management of public resources.
Al -makura said that his administration was anchored on probity, accountability and fear of God and urged the members of the council to key in to the policies of government.
“Our APC led administration has zero tolerance for corruption, as such I enjoin you all to discharge your duties to the people with the fear of God.
“We must all imbibe the culture of transparency in the discharge of duties in order to improve on the standard of living of the ordinary people of the state.”
He said all public office holders would be expected to exhibit exemplary traits in the management of public resources.
The governor called on them to be fair in order to earn the confidence of the public, adding that “we should know that people would account for their actions before God on the day of resurrection”.
He said that anti graft agencies were everywhere watching actions and inaction of every government official and that he would not stand for anyone found wanting.
He explained that his administration would create enabling environment for every member of the cabinet to contribute his quota in the development of the state.

The inaugural meeting was attended by permanent secretaries and the newly sworn in special advisers. (NAN)
