Enugu (Enugu State) – The Enugu State Executive Council has approved the procurement of N1.5 billion loan to enable the government to develop primary schools in the state.
The Commissioner for Information, Dr Godwin Uduehele, announced this when he briefed newsmen on the outcome of the 11th meeting of State Executive Council in Enugu on Thursday.
Uduehele said the loan would serve as a counterpart fund to assist the Enugu State Universal Basic Education Board (ENSUBEB) to access the World Bank grant.

According to him, it is part of government’s drive to reposition primary schools in the state.
The commissioner said the council also approved award of contract for construction of bridge at the Ebonyi River in Ikem, headquarters of Isiuzo Local Government Area.
“When completed, it would alleviate the plight of the people traversing to Obollo Afor, Obollo Eke and the Northern parts of Nigeria.
The commissioner said the council also awarded contracts for the reconstruction of Orie-Emene-Adoration- Rehab Road to Nkwubo Road to ease transportation problem in the area. (NAN)
