Abuja (Sundiata Post) – Chelsea reached a ‘private agreement’ with Romelu Lukaku’s agent last year, with the player set to leave the club this summer.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Blues will demand a transfer fee of £38m (€44m) for Lukaku in the upcoming window.
The exit clause was decided between both parties last summer.
Lukaku is currently on a one-year loan at Roma and the Serie A side can trigger the clause to sign him permanently ahead of the 2024/2025 season.
The Belgian also reportedly has interest from several Saudi Pro League sides.
The former Manchester United and Inter player has enjoyed a successful loan spell in Italy in the current season having scored 20 goals across all competitions in 44 appearances and provided four assists for Daniele De Rossi’s side.
